Ruby (they / them) is a multi-genre violinist and pianist.
Branching out from traditional classical settings to include all the flavors NYC has to offer,
they found a bevy of knowledge and supplemental education in traversing wildly varying spaces like those of hip-hop, rap, experimental rock (alt/indie, avant-garde, post-punk, ‘lemonpop’, chamber pop), singer-songwriter arrangements, jazz, industrial pop, psychedelic folk, and many other intersections in style.
Ruby has recently toured as a solo violinist for
Phoebe Bridgers on her 2022 ‘Reunion Tour’, culminating in a live performance for an audience of more than 10,000 people at Red Rocks, CO.
They have also toured with Grammy-award winning artists like
Michael Bublé and Josh Groban, along with other household names like Michael Bolton,
Trans-Siberian Orchestra, Il Volo, and Sarah Brightman.
Many of these artists have performed recurrent shows at the iconic Radio City Music Hall, year after year.
They have also been a longstanding member of both the classical chamber group Mount Vernon Virtuosi led by cellist Amit Peled, and the ‘avant-punk’ multi-instrumentalist band Sloppy Jane led by the inimitable Haley Dahl.
Ruby is currently based in both NYC and the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area,
and also likes dabbling with paint and other mediums in their free time.
